Cami.. you're a STAR!

We were so excited when we found out that the amazing Shauna Lake wanted to interview Cami!  What an honor!  We figured this was a fabulous opportunity to not only tell Cami's story, but to also spread the word about how EASY it is to be a bone marrow donor!  Here's the story for those of you who missed it:

Cami's News Interview from Pat Carver on Vimeo.

There has been a lot of interest in the Cami Strong bracelets that Shauna passes out on the show... good news!  They will be available on psiadoareyou.com next week!  We would love to see pictures of you sporting them!  use #camistrong so we can show Cami all the support and love she is getting!

Thank you to Shauna Lake for putting her heart into this story.  You can tell how much she loves our Cami and our Cami sure loves her!  After we watched it a few times we sent Cami up to get ready for bed, when we went up to tuck her in, we found her writing this in her journal.  I think she was pretty star struck.  She has now decided she wants to be a news anchor when she grows up.  She is going to start practicing on her nurses.. get ready guys!

Translation:
"My Hero
My hero is Shauna Lake.  She is so cool.  She does so many cool reports and she is so beautiful.  I got to see her once, but only one time.  I hope I get to see her again.  I want to be just like her too, but the only thing is how?"

When I sent this to Shauna, she quickly replied that once Cami is healthy enough she is going to take her on a grand tour of the studio.. Cami can't wait!

Thank you for the beautiful story Shauna.  Thank you for loving our girl and helping us to spread the word.  We are officially your biggest fans!  XOXO

  3. What a sweetie! I noticed that you two, the parents, didn't mention being tested. I'm guessing I'm about the same age as you and wondering if they're looking for a younger donor? Or if younger is always better generally speaking. I'm 33, by the way. My husband and I are waiting for our kits in the mail and I really appreciate the info you shared. Everyone needs to hear it. Playing for you from California. You both are amazing parents.

  7. I am a Factor VII hemophiliac so I can't donate to her (or to anyone else) But if I could, I would in a heart beat. What a sweet little girl. <3 My prayers are with you and your family and when the Cami*strong bracelets come out I will be sure to by one for me and my little girl. Love to you and smiles across the miles.

  8. I have been a silent follower for a while, but I just wanted to let you know I just got my kits for me and my husband and we would be honored if we could help! My 5 year old daughter was asking questions about it so for the next half hour she and my 2 year old sat watching Cami's video and looking at pictures asking questions so concerned. They would like to send some pictures and a package for Cami, what is the best way to get that to you? My email address is rabowlerfam@gmail.com
