I want to start by saying this blog is very dear to me. I love it for writing and expressing myself. I love it for documenting my family as we grow. I love it because it is a fast and easy way to let everyone know how our family is doing. I really do love all of you who read and support us on this blog, it means the world to me. I know it has taken me a while to post about this wish trip, but that is only because it is dear to my heart and I try to make each post something that I can print out and keep for our family one day. I want to apologize for slacking on the blog, but Im also not very sorry at all. You see, I am happy to disappear from the cyber world for awhile because I am SO very grateful that we have gone back to living our life (for now anyway). When Cami's levels were low, I had so much time on my hands that I NEEDED an escape through this blog. I WANTED to be on Facebook and blogs watching others live their normal lives. It really helped me to write down my feelings and focus on the good. It's just the way I coped day to day. One thing I am learning quickly is that a fever can spike in Cami and within an hour our world can change. A fever can mean instant ER, hospitalization, antibiotics, tests galore, and WEEKS of staying home to recover and let her levels bounce back. While I dont want to jinx it, I want to acknowledge that we are not taking this precious "normalcy" for granted. So while we are out enjoying our fever-free time, I appreciate your patience on my long over-due wish posts. It is NOT a coincidence that I am writing today as it is the dreaded steroid week. Our home is often filled with a grumpy, hungry little girl during these awful weeks and I guess I needed an escape.
OK... now on to Sea World!
We woke up in our new hotel and headed over to Sea World (which was a block away). Grandma Di-Di needed an amusement park break, so she stayed home. Pat and I weren't thrilled about going to Sea World, only because we remembered it being a little boring as kids. Boy has it changed! They have HUGE rides, hundreds of animals, and impressive aquariums throughout this beautiful property. The day started out cold and rainy, but by late morning it had turned into a beautiful sun-filled day. We all enjoyed soaking up some rays and watching the breathtaking sea life they had to offer. It was a perfect day to get us out of the funk we were in after leaving Give Kids The World.
With Cami's pass, Sea World gave us basically our choice of seats. We were boring and decided to sit in the no-splash zone (Pat was very disappointed in us). Cami loves animals and she was inthralled through all of the shows. Her favorite was the dolphins.
Caden and Pat were fine as long as they had some snacks handy.
Caden just quietly clapped his chubby little hands the entire time.
It was almost more than I could bear, not to eat him up right there and then.
The kids loved this aquarium. They had a little area where you could put your head up, it made me VERY claustrophobic and nervous, but the kids loved it and could have stayed there for hours taking all the fish in.
Sea World had quite an impressive playground and water park area. The kids couldn't get enough of these huge slides.
The day got pretty hot, so the kids cooled off in the water.
When Caden fell asleep, we took turns taking Cami on this ride.
She loved it and begged to go on it again and again. It was kind of like Splash Mountain without the happy-feeling characters and cute song. Instead it was a scary, Antlantis themed ride. I was NOT a fan, but Cami just LOVES those rides with steep drops.
Here's Pat and Cami going down the drop.
See them, on the second row?
Cami looks so little. That girl has no fear!

Besides special seating in the shows and getting to the font of the lines on the rides, Sea World also gives the wish kids a chance to feed the dolphins. It was amazing to be so close to them. We got to touch them and feed them. They are just the happiest, friendliest, bubbliest creatures. They would pop their little heads up, give us a squeak and squeal, grab a fish, then they seemed to almost wink and smile before heading back under the water. They were adorable. Cami fell in love!
Thank you Sea World!!!
...and that my friends, is the end of day 8.
